el rey

el rey is a danish band, from denmark.
el rey has existed since sometime in 2007, when the band first started our - albeit small - musical journey together, working on our first single, "deedee". "deedee" is still in the works, but has reached the final stage before recording.
el rey's music falls within a wide spectrum of genres, and we are never content with having only one label stuck upon us.
el rey is our experiment, our baby, the stuff we do when time allows us to.

lasse jensen, guitar, piano, compositions
lasse is the musical mastermind of the band and the composer of every melody on the three albums the band has in the works. a frighteningly intelligent young man, he is also freakishly tall, with long, bushy, red hair, black nail polish and ear rings.

jacob bęk, vocals, guitar, lyrics
jacob prefers to sing his own songs himself, so in el rey, he does. he is the writer behind - almost - every el rey song. he is of a very lean build, is usually very quiet and wears full rim glasses and a grey sixpence cap. he also designed this website.

coming projects

in addition to the first three albums el rey are working on right now - all at the same time - a fourth is in development, this one only with songs in danish. it will bear the danish title "kronologisk ukorrekt", meaning "chronologically incorrect" and will contain such songs as "vand", "protest", "december" and "kontrollant".
